Perth mountain biker Declan von Dietze, 22, will leave Albany on his mountain bike on at 9am Sunday 30 April, with the aim of reaching the northern end of the 1000 km world-famous trail in Mundaring in less than one week.

He said he was attempting the record because he wanted to inspire young people to take up mountain biking. “The Munda Biddi is among the best and longest mountain bike trails in the world, and what better way to get people interested in this wonderful sport and our magnificent environment than attempting to ‘Bust the Biddi’ in record time,” he said.
